What ranking does Praxis hold related to placements/outcomes?
Praxis is ranked #2 in Kolkata and #4 in East India per the Times B-School Ranking 2022. This ranking is still cited in the current 2026-28 Placement Brochure, though it is based on 2022 data — the year should be stated alongside this claim.
How is the placement process structured and governed?
Placements are handled by the Placement Committee, comprising 2 staff members and 12–20 student members drawn from both PGDM batches. The committee is headed by a chairperson, reports to the Founder-Director, and liaisons between recruiters and students.
What is Praxis's "one offer" policy?
Praxis follows a one-offer policy: once an organization confirms a student's selection, that student is taken out of all other placement processes and deemed placed. Students cannot withdraw from an organization once they've applied to it, under any circumstances.
When does the placement season start and end?
Placement activities run from November to March each year. "Day Zero" — the final-year placement kickoff — starts in November, with campus placements beginning as early as 5:00 AM and typically seeing 20+ organizations participate. Campus recruitment for final placements concludes by March 31st.

Can students apply to companies on their own, outside the campus process?
Yes, students may apply to organizations independently but must inform Placement Coordinators by email upon receiving an off-campus offer. If the same organization later visits campus, the student must disclose their prior application to the Placement Committee. Students are not permitted to contact a visiting company directly without the Placement Committee's permission.
What happens if a student misses a step in the recruitment process?
The student will be debarred from 5 organizations they were otherwise eligible for.
Can students negotiate salary during interviews?
No — students are not allowed to negotiate salary with a recruiting executive unless the company's announcement explicitly states the salary is negotiable.
Is there a dress code of conduct expectation during placement interviews?
Yes — students must wear formal attire and follow interview-room decorum. Any misbehaviour during interviews can result in the student being signed out of the placement process entirely.
Can the interview/selection process happen outside Kolkata?
Yes — the selection process may occur in any city or town as per the corporate's convenience, and students are expected to travel and make their own arrangements, with details shared in advance by the Placement Committee.
What happens once a student receives and accepts an offer?
The student is automatically signed out of all other placement processes and considered placed. Students may have multiple attempts (interviews) to secure their first job, but once an offer is accepted, they exit the process entirely.
Who is on the Placement & Corporate Relations Committee?
The committee includes a faculty member (Assistant Professor) and senior/junior student PlaceCom members from both PGDM batches. This helps with mid-course corrections, strengthens problem-solving and communication skills, and improves the chances of converting the internship into a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO).
